The cultivation, sale, and possession of cannabis for recreational purposes are illegal in Botswana.
Locals in Botswana use cannabis even though it is illegal. Possession of any amount of cannabis can be punished, even with jail time. Sources say that this rarely happens with small amounts and that cops are easy to bribe.
We advice to be careful with both cannabis and trying to bribe cops as you don’t wish to end up in jail in any case.
