5 video games to play while you're high

5 video games to play while you're high

Some people say that playing video games high can improve your memory. Others don't need any excuse to get stoned and play their favorite video game.

Ah, video games and weed. Is there any combination as sweet? It depends on whom you ask of course, but for many cannabis-lovers, it doesn't get much better than that.

Of course, there will always be folks who say that weed smokers love gluing themselves to a good game just because it gives them the opportunity to be lazy, allowing them to be perfectly content with their "unmotivated" selves. Luckily there are also others that believe that pot smokers can mentally benefit from puffing on a J and kicking ass in Mario Kart.

But hey, screw the lazy stoner stigma. Personally we don't need any excuse to whip out the weed and fire up the old game console. So grab a controller and your favorite bong, and try it out yourself.

SUPER MARIO KART

SUPER MARIO KART

Initial release date: 1992
Platforms: Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Wii, Wii U

Good ol' Super Mario Kart. Not only do you get to cruise through colorful destinations, you also get to mess around with the other racers along the way. The game is pretty old and although there have been tons of new games on the market since it first came out in in 1992, Super Mario Kart is still one of the most fun games to play while high.

Whether you're playing solo or with friends, the game is quite stress relieving. Nothing gets out built-up anger like hitting your buddy of the road with a Red Koopa Shell. It's the one game that allows you to be a little shit and get away with it.

MINECRAFT

MINECRAFT

Initial release date: 2009
Platforms: PS3, PS4, Playstation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows, iOS, macOS, Android, Linux

When it comes to unleashing creativity, the possibilities are endless with Minecraft. You might not be able to control the world you live in now, but with Minecraft, you can build your own, block by block, and do whatever you want with it.

If you're up for fighting some zombies while you're high, you can do that in Minecraft too. And blow up houses to boot. Again, the possibilities are endless, not just for creativity, but also destructiveness. Minecraft is just plain awesome, especially when you're a little baked and let yourself drift off.

GRAND THEFT AUTO V

GRAND THEFT AUTO V

Initial release date: 2013
Platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows

From hitting up the strip club to virtually smoking a bong to robbing the gas station, you can do it all in GTA 5. Although cannabis-lovers typically aren't the most violent people, words cannot describe how surprisingly amusing it can be to run over a bunch of pedestrians, steal cars and fight the police.

When going online in GTA, you get to customize your character, vehicle, and much more, but somehow the game is just full off possibilities. You can just hang out and ride a freaking ferris wheel if you want to, or go to the movies or even play chess or darts with other online gamers. And if you like sports, there's tennis, car racing, golf, and triathlons that you can compete in to build stats.

You'll never be bored as GTA 5 is one of the most diverse games out there and it must be said that it can get quite addictive. Just be sure to watch out for the cops and other players when your high ass decides to wreak havoc just for fun.

GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS

GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS

Initial release date: 2017
Platforms: PS4, Xbox, Windows

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is a tactical shooter game set in an open world, and it’s great! It does require you to enjoy violent games at least a bit, as this game is all about warfare - and lots of it.

This game takes place in the developer’s version of Bolivia, and it looks awesome. The enormous map consists of 20 different provinces, featuring mountains, jungles, deserts, lakes, salt flats, swamps, and even caves. And each landscape will somehow influence how you play, as warfare is different in the forest than it is in the desert, of course.

The game consists of different missions which you can play alone, or with others online. Hunting down some cartel boss in a chopper or a land vehicle, or simply blowing stuff up like cocaine caches and equipment, this game is so huge and diverse that it can really suck you in and keep you entertained.

If you get a bit serious about completing the sometimes difficult missions, it might require a bit of concentration and focus. But of course, there are certain cannabis strains like the Original Amnesia that can help you with this.

THE WITCHER 3

THE WITCHER 3

Initial release date: 2015
Platforms: PS4, Xbox, Windows

In The Witcher 3, you play Geralt, a monster hunter known as a Witcher, who is looking for his missing daughter.

Just like its predecessors, The Witcher 3 is an enormous open world game which you will probably never stop exploring and learning new things.

In a world full of monsters and magic, you make your way to defeat many obstacles and creatures such as a werewolf. You will need to communicate often as the game is largely focussed on narrative, in addition to action.

The game is truly a blast, and it’s magical stories and design will completely absorb you if you explore while glued to the couch. It goes without saying, The Witcher 3 has won many awards and is a very popular game amongst young and old.

Thanks to its wonderful artwork, it can be the perfect game to play and do absolutely nothing else after smoking a heavy indica. Just explore the landscape a bit and enjoy the visuals. Perfect!
