The cultivation, sale, and possession of cannabis for recreational purposes are illegal in Panama.
Although it is not too hard to find cannabis in Panama, any kind of possession of cannabis is illegal and will be punished.
In 2016 Panama’s president Juan Carlos Varela signed a new law that makes legalization of medical marijuana possible. However there is no written proof that anything has changed in the country thus far and it is safe to assume that even medical marijuana is still illegal.
