Philosopher Seeds is known for their Fruity Jack and the Black Bomb. We met with them in Barcelona and asked them about their future plans.
Philosopher Seeds has officially been producing cannabis seeds since 2008, but started as a group of old friends who all have a lot of experience in growing cannabis. They decided to join their forces and put their knowledge together to start this seed bank.
They are known for their mostly fruity and tasteful strains such as the Fruity Jack and the Black Bomb. We met up with Yohan for a short chat about how things are going for them and to have a look at some amazing bud.
Interview transcript:
Renzo: Philosopher Seeds. Yohan. Thank for having me man, nice to see you again. How are you doing?
Yohan: We are fine, I am a bit tired, but we are fine! We keep on working, keep on growing and I am happy to see you guys again.
Renzo: You guys have been working really hard in the last few years, but for the people who don’t know you so well, maybe you could tell us a little bit about Philosopher Seeds? Who are you guys, where are you from, how long have been working and what are your goals?
Yohan: Well we are from Girona, in the North of Spain. We work very hard every day to find new pheno’s and to bring new strains. I can you show you a bit what we have grown. For example here we’ve got the Fruity Jack, which is an older strain from us.
Renzo: That looks amazing!
Yohan: Yeah it has a lot of resin.
Renzo: Fruity Jack, is that an indica or a sativa?
Yohan: It’s mostly sativa. It has very high effects.
Renzo: It’s grown mostly indoors right?
Yohan: This particular bud is grown indoors, but it grows very good outside as well. It’s a very good strain. Here we’ve got our Cheesy Auto CBD. We have a normal Cheesy Auto, but we wanted to make this strain also with CBD because a lot of people are discovering the effect of CBD and it helps a lot of people.
Renzo: So it’s basically a Cheese, autoflowering with a higher CBD percentage?
Yohan: Yes, it has more CBD (7%THC and 7%CBD) than the normal Cheesy Auto.
Renzo: Is this a populare strain?
Yohan: Yes it is. Then here we’ve got the Guava Berry Kush. Also very nice. As you can see we’ve got a bit of everything. If you want to try something, you’re welcome.
Renzo: Well maybe later. This bud looks amazing as well. It’s the Lemon OG Candy. It’s a new strain right?
Yohan: Yes, it’s one of our latest strains.
Renzo: This is also grown indoors?
Yohan: Yes everything you see here is grown indoor.
Renzo: So is this a thing? Are you guys focussing more and more on CBD strains nowadays?
Yohan: Not more than before. We have a few strains focussing on CBD but we keep working on different things, and don’t focus on just CBD.
Renzo: If you would have to pick a favourite from your catalogue, what would you pick?
Yohan: I would directly pick this one.
Renzo: The Fruity Jack?
Yohan: Yes. Fruity Jack. Or maybe the Black Bomb. It has a better effect for the night, very stoned. But it depends on the moment and the day.
Renzo: Unfortunately it is a bit too early in the day for me to start smoking yet, but it all looks delicious. The guys who want to buy your seeds can have a better look at your website and we will try to inform them as much as possible as well. Thank you for your time Yohan.
