Find out about the legal status of medical and recreational marijuana in the state of Idaho. Is marijuana illegal? Better safe than sorry!

MEDICAL MARIJUANA IN IDAHO

The production, sale and possession of any form of medicinal marijuana products are illegal in Idaho, as the state currently is one of the few states left that have no medical marijuana program whatsoever.

RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA IN IDAHO

The cultivation, sale, and possession of cannabis for recreational purposes are highly illegal in Idaho.

Idaho is known for having one of the most harshest drug laws in the country and is not planning to change this in the near future.

Getting caught with up to 3 oz (85 grams) is still considered a misdemeanor and can lead to up to 1 year in jail and/or a fine up to $1,000.

Carrying even more than that might get you a jail sentence of up to 5 years and/or a fine of up to $10,000.

We are not aware of any possible law changes in the (near) future in Idaho regarding medical and/or recreational cannabis.
