Making cannabis brownies is super easy. The really hard part? Not eating too much of these delicious treats! Check out our great recipe!

Pot brownies are one of the classic edibles of stoner culture. The good news is, that they are absolutely easy to make. That said, it is usually a good idea to prepare. It is easier to make your cannabutter or oil ahead of time. Whatever you do, don’t just throw your old scraps, seeds and cuttings into the batter.

This may also go without saying, but making any recipe with cannabis also means you need either legalization or privacy. Cooking with cannabis is a very odorous proposition.

HOW TO CALCULATE POTENCY

The toughest thing about making delicious edibles is not eating too much. But you also have to figure out how strong to make them. A starting dose of marijuana for beginners is between 5 and 10mg. A gram of cannabis bud is 1000mg dry weight.

If your strain has 10% THC, that means every gram of cannabis has 100mg of THC. So you should divide this up approximately equally. For 1 gram of 10% THC bud, try to make about 5-10 servings.

NEEDED INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup cannabutter or oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 greased 18 x 26cm baking pan

PREPARATION

Preheat oven to 350°F/177°C. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add wet ingredients and stir together. Then add all the bulkier ingredients (such as nuts or chips). Bake for about 30 minutes.

To test if it is done, check to see if the sides begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Alternatively you can use the tooth pick method. Let cool completely before cutting.

This recipe should create about 20 servings. That means your cannabutter should have been made with 3-4 grams of 10% THC cannabis.
